Our clients are increasingly conscious of the impact their office space may have on the environment. With a commitment to designing interior spaces for sustainability and that follow the guidelines for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) for Commercial Interiors (CI), MKDA retains a number of LEED-accredited professionals.
These professionals are dedicated to sourcing the latest in attractive, durable, efficient and economical sustainable materials and systems, whether or not a client intends to seek LEED certification for their space. Our approach for creating sustainably designed interiors involves, among other initiatives, the use of:
- Sophisticated waste management programs
- Materials comprised of post-consumer and post-industrial recycled content
- Glass walls and dividers to optimize natural lighting
- Forest Stewardship Council (FSC)-approved woods
- Advanced energy efficient lighting and equipment
- Zero- to low-Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC) adhesives, sealants and paints
- Carpeting that meets the Rug Institute Green Label Plus Program guidelines
