On February 17th, our Miami office was named one of South Florida Business Journal’s Best Places to Work! Our team attended the award ceremony at The Signature Grand in Davie, FL to celebrate our success in style. We are grateful to have taken part in this event and we truly appreciate this honor.
“Architecture and interior design studio MKDA is building on its 60-year legacy with modern-day workplace philosophies. Its success comes from being a boutique firm.
One of the advantages of being a smaller firm is that all employees work closely and collaborate. Everyone has a direct line of communication to senior members, as both questions and contributions are not only welcomed, but encouraged.
These connections in a “family environment,” as well as various events, help build bonds. The company hosts themed days of the week, such as Mash-Up Monday, What’s the Tea Tuesday, Wellness Wednesday, Think Tank Thursday and Furry Friday, as well as “lavish” birthday celebrations.
Financially, MKDA offers paid time off for volunteering efforts, and matches donations to a cause of the employee’s choosing. Team members can bring their pets to work or enjoy a flexible environment and hours.
The pandemic only reinforced many of these beliefs and policies, including the importance of maintaining a strong sense of community, which is the cornerstone of the company’s culture. Even remotely, team members keep in close contact with each other every day to keep engagement and morale high.
At MKDA, employee engagement is critical to success. As such, nothing is healthier for its bottom line than having happy, enthusiastic and engaged employees who feel that they are part of a greater purpose.”
