The candidate should be confident in communicating regularly with the client in order to assess their needs and be able to adjust a given approach based on feedback. They should also maintain familiarity with the interior design landscape and trends in order to provide the best ideas for clients.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Developing and following up on conceptual design: mood boards, overall look & feel of the space, spatial design, directing Intermediate and Junior Designers in putting test fits, renderings and design packages together
-Selecting FF&E and overseeing related budgets
-Participating in programming, visioning and site assessment tasks
-Millwork detailing, specifications and reviewing shop drawings
-Leading and managing teams of Intermediate and Junior Designers on multiple projects
-Leadership of project consultants and clients
-Attending meetings and managing client expectations
-Coordinating with outside consultants and vendors
QUALIFICATIONS:
-Bachelors or Master’s degree in Interior Design. CID, IIDA, ASID, LEED and WELL a plus
-10-25 years of professional working experience in corporate interior design
-Highly proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, Sketch-Up, and 3D Rendering, Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Microsoft Office. Experience with Enscape, Lumion, or 3ds Max is a plus.
-Experience with creating and understanding project documentation, including Design Development and Construction Sets
-Understanding of interior finishes, materials, furniture, lighting, fixtures, and FF&E schedules and budgets
-Knowledge of current building codes including ADA requirements
-Ability to work well with colleagues, clients, vendors, and construction managers.
-Excellent presentation skills and strong communication skills
-Strong management, organizational and problem solving skills, and ability to handle multiple deadlines
-Must have experience working in and currently reside in the NY Tri-State Area or be willing to relocate

Position Preview: MKDA is seeking a Job Captain to join our Stamford, CT studio (>). The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating detailed and technically sound construction documents along with performing construction administration tasks. The individual will also conduct field surveys and reports, and attend field meetings with clients. Must currently reside in the Connecticut/ NY Tri-State Area or be willing to relocate.
