On May 16th, MKDA’s Regional Managing Principal Southeast, Amanda Hertzler, was presented with the Architectural Design Excellence Award at the prestigious Architecture & Construction Red Awards Florida. Located in Miami’s vibrant Design District, the black tie event brought together top developers, architects, interior designers, and contractors in South Florida to celebrate their success with industry leaders. Amidst the elegance and excitement, Hertzler’s recognition highlights MKDA’s innovative contributions to the region’s architectural landscape, cementing itself as a creative provider of ground-up and adaptive-reuse architecture and interior design in the hospitality, multi-family, mixed-use, retail and workplace sectors.
The studio has also played a pivotal role in the creative transformation and development of the Wynwood Arts District and has been named a South Florida Business Journal Top 25 Architecture Firm and Best Place to Work. The award came just a day after the Miami studio celebrated its 10-year anniversary, marking a week of monumental milestones and festivities.
“My brother and I started the Miami office 10 years ago, and we’ve witnessed tremendous growth not only in our company but also in the South Florida market,” said Hertzler. “As a family-owned and operated firm now ushering in its third generation of leadership, MKDA truly values family, which I’m deeply grateful for. Raised by an engineer and a landscape architect, it’s been an honor to carry on our family tradition alongside the Kleinbergs at MKDA. Thank you to my exceptional team, and thank you for this award.”
